In High School I had a ratty '70 Camero with a mild 350 and a th350. Air shocks @ 100psi in the back so I didn't inject fender rust into the N50 pro tracks. It had peeling Crager SS rims, Headers with glasspacks, no tailpipes. (most of the exhaust came through the rust holes in the floor. ) What a piece of crap, I miss it so much. I still would love to build one..... the right way!

Back in high school (mid,late 70's) i was lookin for a car. came across a plymouth in the back of a car lot localy. had a horrible noise (exh. leak, valve tap. ) knew nothing about mopars at the time. (16yrs old) bought it for 500$ turns out i bought a 69 Hemi GTX 4spd 4;10 dana all in tact. horriblle rust in the quarters but after i fig. out how to adj. the valves and fixed the exh leak i was KING of the high school ran it for a few years and took it apart to semi restore it and as the story goes got offered to much to keep the motor, trans ,rear and hood. kick my self regulerly thinking what id have now but don't we all. i have 1 pic but its to old to scan nicely( wont come out clear. ) oh well.



Oh driving a Hemi car after owning a 71 superbeetle is like going from a piper cub to a mig... . lol

'69 Dart, 340 ,4 speed ,391 posi, etc, etc,etc. loved that car , it was fast and a lot of fun. Sure wish I could have it back now, but in '73 babys took too much money to keep it. Used to rattle all the winows in the house as well as the neighbors with the idle when it was cold.

I had a 1970 Duster as my first owned car. It had a 318/904 combo for a few years and then had a 340/727 combo that was pretty fast. With 4. 56 gears it would travel the quarter in the very low 13 second to high 12 second times. I have had many other cars but this one was my favorite. I do have now a 1970 Dart that has travelled the quarter mile in 10. 06 seconds with a nice 360/904 combo. I will try to attach a picture but I have never tried it before.



By the way, if anyone is interested or might know someone interested the car is for sale.

Between 81 and 85 had 9 GTX's 68 thru 71 2 of which were hemi cars, 7 Challengers 1 was a hemi car,70 thru 72, 4 cudas 1 was a 6pak car, 70,71's 5 chargers 68 thru 71. and we parts'd every one of them out cept 1 challenger. back then you couldn't give the stuff away. now don't get me wrong none of them were showroom car's we bought most out of field and barns. if i had them all right now i wouldnt be working i'll tell ya that... LOL. but hind sight is allways 20/20 right.



I did have a cheby too. had a 69 302 dz Z-28 4;10 service package rear w/ chambered pipes, dont care what evreybody brags up about them they were turds in my book, pulled the 302 and put an LT-1 in it and that thing screamed...



oh well life goes on... LOL

Current car is a a 71 chevelle. It started life as a plain jane. Now it has a high compression 427 with a juicy solid roller cam. Best time to date is 11. 15, but should easily go 10's before the year is over. Wish I knew how to post pics, but I am illiterate when it comes to that.

Yeah, those were the days, Scott. We were lucky enough to be able to run around in those cars during that period between when they were brand new and when they became valuable "investments". The stuff we all drove in high school... Mustangs, Chevelles, Camaros, Firebirds, Chargers, GTOs, Challengers, Cudas... The school lot was full of soon to be valuable iron. Course, many of them were quite abused, but they could take it!

Let's try another one. This is our old plymouth fury III. I am the second owner. My grandparents bought it brand new in 67. It isn't a hot rod, but is old and powered by a big block.

Two I really liked were a 68 AMX 390 4sp and a 69 442 conv. I also had a 69 Mach 1 with a 428/C6, but I never did get around to finishing it, that was about the time I really started getting into motorcycles.
