Was that measured at the outlet line or in the pan. That is too hot for the pan and the oil should be changed.
If that was the reading on the output line, you are most likely ok. What does the oil look like and smell like. Put Amsoil or similar in and it can handle the temps better. SNOKING
Thanks, the oil temp was at the pan , what is the name of the amsoil I should ues and will it do any harm to my built up transmission? I have a heavy duty billet toqurt converter and valve body in it?
What were you doing to get your pan temps to 230 on a built transmission? Otherwise you'll be changing the oil quite often. Amsoil will bring the temps down some, but figuring out why the pan temps are so hot is more critical.
