Onan 2500 LP generator won't start

AC is 20 amp when starting, hot water heater is on a 15 amp braker, that's 35 amps. Never had a problem, until I turn on the microwave! Now we just learn to turn off the electric HW switch before nuking dinner.

Thats a good idea, Will! I'll have to check my hot water heater to see if I can do that.

Only problem of running straight electric, if you have a/c on, it can be quite a draw on 30 amp service.

Will, been there done that... . I wish my switch to turn off the hot water heater was more convenient (On the side of the HWH)

We fried our power cord end on the 4th of July weekend. (Some one decided to replace the end, and put one of those cheapies from Wally World!) Well I did it right, I replaced the whole cord. No problems since... . When we buy our next one, it is going to have 50 amp service.

I've run into this as well. If the AC is on and water heater is going the nuker will end up tripping the breaker. We just shut of the AC for a few minutes, it's easier than running out to the heater. Same deal when the missus is blow drying her hair.
