This summer passing thru Las Vegas towing a 10K trailer in 105 degree heat in heavy and slow traffic my truck started to shift erratically. My DTT smart box stopped controlling the shift in and out of over drive. I called Bill K and he told me to shake the wiring where the smart box connects to the Dodge controls. It worked, but on the next very hot day the problem returned. One more shake and I was able to tow back to South Carolina. I never saw the problem again. Any comment on how to prevent this problem?

DTT noise filter?

Get the wiring as far toward the wheel well (as cool) as possible, redo all grounds over at the PCM and use dielectric grease. SOLDER instead of the wire taps, all the places it is tapped. Should do it.

Sounds like a wire tap gone noisey.

Yes I have a DTT noise filter which is attached with a clamp type device and not soldered. I'll try to get it soldered.

Strange in a 6,600 mile trip towing a 5th wheel trailer the only time I had a problem was in very hot weather, and I had been towing for 6 hours.
