Happy Belated Birthday Merrick!!!

If any of you guys still enjoy the "FUN" of yesteryear and like good smack talking about street racing, check out "hotrodgossip.com". It is a site run by a guy here in Houston who was an old time street racer. He has different levels for guys to race in and become a "Street King".

They are having a race this weekend (Nov. 15). It is in NO WAY organized. You show up, put an "R" by your number and find someone to race. If you schedule a race ahead of time, and your car is fast enough, you get paid (only $100. 00). Fastes cars run for "Top Gun" status. Only restriction (I think) is 10. 5" slicks. These events are called "Clobberthons". Our track in Houston, Houston Raceway Park, is where it will go down. Gates open at High Noon.

Check out the page, good for a few laughs. Last event there were over 3,000 people. I was at the last event spectating and it was WILD. Had several clip the wall when the sun went down. Try herding 800+++ hp, back half only frame, down the 1/4 with only 10. 5" slicks. Things can get a little crazy. Almost every car there runs a minimum of 1 shot nos. Most have 2 or 3 "staged" systems, it gets crazy. Fastest 1/8 will be in the high 4. 6 to low 4. 8. This one, if the weather holds, could top 4,000!!!!!

P. S. DON'T EVEN think of showing up in RICE, you will NOT be allowed to run. As they say, American Iron ONLY!!!!!

Or you could call it a controlled field test to determine the next weakest link in the vehicle's drivetrain! ;)

On a re-read of my post, I know guys here are putting 800 plus H. P. to the ground. They just aren't riding in a 2750 to 3300 lb vehicle.

I did not want anyone to take the post the wrong way (not that anyone had, just stating for clarification).

I know several guys who Maddog could sucker for several hundred $$$ or more Oo. Oo. :D .

Hey Rusty, You don't work in the oilfield do you??? (Thick Sarcasm). I thought that was standard operating procedure  .

Curtis, call the guy on the page about running MDW's truck. They MAY balk because it is a truck. They are trying to keep a 12. 5 cut-off, at least that was mentioned on the page several pages ago.

Later, Jim
