How can an 06 used be more than a new one?

Howdy! Does anybody have an idea of which dealer is the best to work with in the Houston, TX. area? I'm looking for a '06 SLT longbed and I want to try and get the best possible price. Thanks!

Don't know about the best. The only Dodge dealer that I have delt with is www.helfmandodge.com. They are located on I-10 and Silber Road just outside loop 610. I have bought two Dodge Ram trucks from them in the last three years. That location is mainly truck sales and they have a pretty good selection on the lot. Salesmen are salesmen, enough said. They did make me a deal both times I was satisfied with and seemed to be inline with others that believed they had made a good deal.

The service department is excellent. I do trust them with diagnosing problems and correcting what is really wrong. Oil changes went from $26. 95 to $30. 95, but still cheap enough for me to let them do it.

Just hold your ground until you get what YOU want, don't give in. Drive away a couple of times, let them call and meet your deal. It has worked for me so far.

Bought mine in Hempstead. Two other dealers said they couldn't come close to what I paid. Holler at me and I'll tell you who to ask for.

Try BJ Gallatin at Henson Motors in Madisonville. Do a search on his name in this forum or on Henson Motors and you come up with some favorable references.

The only Dodge dealer in Houston I have experience with is Mac Haik... and it was a very unpleasant one. They repaired my truck after an accident, or attempted to repair. I drove 500 miles down there to pick it up and it was in horrible shape, mechanically and body wise. I immediately went to the showroom and tried to trade it for a new truck and they only offered me $17,000 for my 05 Quad Cab Big Horn 4x4 Cummins that was in immaculate condition (with the exception of their own repair work) with 9,000 miles on it. And this was before the 06's hit the lot, so it was a current model year truck.

I ended up leaving 7 hours later after they had done as much work as they could to get my truck in decent shape. I made it to the Texas/Oklahoma border when the front trac-bar fell off, causing death wobble at 70 mph so bad the oil pan was dented by the front axle. After several months my insurance company finally stepped up and totalled the truck.

Helfman is were got my 06'. I was 99% satisfied with the salesmen, price, and service. The service department is great and does what you tell them. I would buy another Dodge there if I needed one. BTW, My salesman was Keth Arens.

Thanks, guys! I checked the paper this morning and the Memorial Day weekend sales ads were out. Mac Haik was advertizing $10,500 off of list on any diesel Quad or Mega cab. I took the ad to Baytown Dodge to see if they would meet that discount and they beat the he!! out of it! I am now the proud owner of a new '06 Ram 2500, Cummins, 4x4, Quad cab with an automatic! :D :D :D My salesman's name is Stanley Clark Jr. , tell him I sent you and I might get a birddog out of it. :)

I ordered mine through Henson in Sealy, they had the best price I found. They are at I-10 & HWY 36. Like said above they have another dealership in Madisonville. I'v heard nothing put positive from the folks getting trucks from Tomeygun if you want to fly up or in for a road trip to his neck of the woods.
