Enough truck?/Exhaust brake recommendations

I have a C-Force Nitro by Carriage that has 3 Dexter Never Lube axles under it... Is there anything that needs to be checked on these???

Thanks Kevin

Brake adjustment. I haven't touched the NevRLube bearings on the 5th wheel below since it was new. I understand there were some problems with the NevRLubes on the 6,000 lb axles (something to do with undersized spindles) that affected Glendale Titanium 5th wheels that were equipped with wheels with an incorrect offset, but that doesn't affect my rig.

When you have them jacked up for adjusting the brakes, you need to grab the wheel and seef if there is any free play. This is how you check them for replacement.

First of all you need to take the time and re-pack bearings at least annually. When greae is pumped in, it will have a tendency to push the inner seal out if too much is pushed in. To me those are for the lazy man. I want to know that the bearings actually have grease. Not saying what I have is any better, but I went the route with oil bath bearings. I can see if there is oil at a glance.

You're thinking of the EZLube bearings . Dexter NevRLube bearings are just what the name implies - sealed bearings that never require lubrication. They're supposedly good for 100K miles without maintenance.

I have the NevRLube bearings on my fiver and just do a brake check and check for excessive play every year. Love them!!! One more nasty chore eliminated.

Fellows, the OP specifically asked about the Dexter NevRLube bearings. These are sealed bearings that cannot be repacked. When they finally go, just replace them.

I have Neverlubes on my Mobile Suite 33RE3 5th. whl. with approx. 50k plus on them. Had them inspected several years ago in Washinton along with brake adjustment at a RV repair shop. THey were within specs. then. Now I have another 6k miles on them and will have them inspected again.
Bottom line... ..... I have had no problems with them but I would rather have regular bearings that I can repack myself and feel confident they are ok.
