Now you can get a Cummins in a Volkswagen

Another Diesel Price Thread

We steadily hear the horror stories - how about a few GOOD ones - especially the EXCEPTIONAL ones where a dealership went that extra mile to keep the customer happy?

This is intended to relate primarily to service/warranty work - but sales and others are welcome too...

Be sure to include the name of the dealership - might help others also looking for a good experience...

I just bought a new '05 3500 from Campbell Chrysler in Fairview, Alberta, Canada. They were AWESOME! I live 45 miles away, and brought my truck in for some accessories. They GAVE me a truck to drive home and back the 90 miles, with no questions asked. These guys are awesome!!!!!

Wow- this is going to be the world's shortest thread :-laf

Actually- I was treated very well as far as sales go on my new one from Silverthorne Auto Group (will keep you posted as to the service dept. when applicable. ) I could have probably gotten an even BETTER deal if I had waited for 'hurricaine season' to wheel n' deal.

I thought Melloy Dodge in Albuquerque West Side was much better than average. They through in a lot of little extras. The price was right and they filled the tank with diesel. I got free oil changes for 7 years. See Sam Argo or AJ Ault.

I might as well add my own experience with what was formerly Vacaville Dodge/Chrysler in Vacaville California, where I bought my new '02 a few years back. They have since been bought out by Lithia - and hopefully, all the original standards of customer satisfaction remain in force.

The sales experience was professionally done, and no complaints. I returned the truck about a year later to have a warranty replacement on the passenger side towing mirror that wouldn't stay adjusted, the work was swiftly done as I waited in the waiting room. Another year rolled by, and a small vacuum pump oil leak developed, and that too was swiftly and efficiently taken care of with no problems.

Small stuff perhaps, but I am EXTREMELY sensitive to the small amount of stuff I let others do on my vehicles - these were both done with NO related scratches, dents or dings, or any sign that anyone had even touched the truck - I'd recommend them to any in the area...

I bought my truck from a big chain owned by AutoNation who owns a lot of dealerships. I went to 2 AutoNation dealers to for service and help and got just about nowhere.

So in frustration I went to a 100% unrelated individually owned Dodge dealer in Coconut Creek Florida called Fairbanks Dodge and they were great. They knew I'd bought it from a competitor and they still treated me great.

Yea, But did they charge you? Mine was filled too, but their is a line item on the invoice for $190 a gallon. Wish I could go back and have them fill it up for that price ;)

Calkins Dodge in Troy PA. These guys are polite and proffesional. A nice change from all the crap dealerships I've dealt with in the past.

Bought my 2005 Dodge 2500 CTD last August from M & M Dodge. Nice salesperson and I bought two previous vehicles (1999 Dodge Ram 1500 and Honda Accord) there, also. After I had the truck home, I was talking to a friend about how the truck didn't have the towing mirrors even though it had the tow package. I pulled out the window sticker and the towing mirrors were included on the sticker. I went down to the dealer the next day and showed the sticker to the salesperson (happened to catch him there on his day off). He brought the sticker over to the sales manager and brought it to his attention that the mirrors were missing from the truck. The sales manager brought me into the service department and set up an appointment to have the mirrors replaced.

On my second truck from Salsbury's Dodge City in Baton Rouge, LA. Neither truck had notable defects, but whenever I went in for service I was pleased. When I had my first truck, the '00 2500, I had my RV hooked up for a trip to Orlando and decided to change my fuel filter the night before. Well... forgot to fill the fuel bowl and the thing took air. The mechanic at Salsbury explained over the phone how to bleed it. . followed his instructions, started it, and took the 1800 mile trip without a problem. Cursed my stupidity and praised the truck for being so "goof-proof" :-laf

That's one reason I bought my '04 from them.

I`ve been a dealer tech for 20 years and altho it may seem the bad outweight the good don`t count us all out because of a few bad apples. Yes i have read and heard personally, countless horror stories, most probably due to the tech "trying to beat the clock" or plain old incompetence/apathy. But also remeber there are guys who WILL go the extra mile (or 10 or 20) if necessary... . soapbox mode off, lol.

Timberline Dodge

I've had great service eperience at Timberline dodge in Portland Oregon. I deal with Ken at the desk and service has allways been honest prompt and properly done. VP44 done nder warranty no questions asked in 2days and a reflash for T/C lock-unlock problem done at no charge.

I've had excellent service from Galeana Dodge in Warren, MI. They took care of a problem in my motor without any hassle. The tech that took care of my truck is very knowledgable and has the ethic of doing things the right way. He also kept in touch with me during the repair and had it ready as expected.

Meltonsales.com [Claremore, OK]. Their service has been great. I had a '01 that the 47RE started giving probs about 8k out of warranty. They replaced the CV body and other trans parts that were involved with its probs. I was all set to pay but the SM says they can get their money from Dodge. My present '03 was purchased from another dealer but when at 15000 miles the 11. 5 rear axle started whinning I took it to Meltons and they confirmed it needed R&P change. We got it in their shop but STAR says NO at the last minute. The service tech was very upset. I think he was in shock that STAR refised to fix a customers problem. Melton DODGE, Claremore, OK. Great bunch. ... ... ... . JIM

I've had good luck with Graft Dodge in Scottdale PA. They are just a little family owned dealer. But, are very easy to deal with and have a top notch service department.

A good Idea Gary we can all use a little more positive postings on this site rather than the usual bashing and *****ing.

Thanks

I bought my wifes Jeep at Hillview Motors in Greensburg PA. They treated us well very well.

They also just bought a Dodge franchise so they are now selling Cummins Rams. Oo.

If I remember right I think they charged me for 6 gals, I need to look at the window sticker. But they did not charge me to totally fill the tank.
