How are the Holley fuel pumps holding up?

I have spent some time looking up old posts to see which new lift pump I should get. I see that the Holley is a popular choice and not very expensive (like the FASS)

I have some questions:

1. How are they holding up?

2. I have looked on line but did not see a pump that said "for diesel fuel" do they have it and just not list it online?

3. What is the part number for the pump you are running?

I have about 8 psi at idle and about 7 driving around. I have no idea if that is good or not. This is from the outlet of the filter housing on its way to c3po :-laf

Mine has held up now for about 10-12K miles with no problems. I dont think the holley pumps are designed to meet the fuel requirement for something like a modded CP3, but just for a replacement or a supplement to the lift pump, I think it is a good alternative.

I've had mine in place now for about 8000 miles. That's almost 2000 more miles than the more expensive Aeromotive that it replaced (Aeromotive blew a seal). I run commercial B10 fuel. Mine is the Holley "Blue", part number 12-802-1. Got mine from Summit. I don't use a regulator.



In warm weather I idle at 12. 5-13. 0. In cold weather it's more like 12-12. 5. On flat ground at 65 on the highway I see about 12. 0-12. 4 at the CP-3. That's after the stock filter and a 2-micron supplemental filter.



The pump is difficult to hear at idle, but you can hear it if you concentrate.

Buy a Walbro pump from glacier diesel. I love mine. No change in psi it stays at 18 all the time.

I like inline pumps, but don't like the high pressures. And I don't know that it's "running at only 20% load". The pump runs at 100% RPM through a bypass regulator down to 18 psi. I'm not sure that equates to 20% load. Anyone know the definition of load for a pump?



The Holley is nice because its flow rate and pressure are closely matched to the factory specifications. Obviously that might not be enough for modified engines.

I also have been hearing great things about the glacier kit... thats the way Im going.



A couple of people I knwo running blue pumps like them because they can rebuild them when they die. Not something I wanna do. I'll spend $400 upfront and not have to hassle with that.
