Rear axle U bolts that is.

I wanted to buy some longer U Bolts for my sons 03 with 10. 5 axle.

Tried the local 4x4 wholesale people who referred me to Superlift who is their supplier.

When I called them and said I had 1/2" U bolts in the rear they said NO WAY!

Dodge would never do that and its unsafe, 9/16" is the smallest. He wouldn't back down and said I was wrong.

My 1/2" wrench slips over the U bolt just fine so how big are yours?

Little late on the reply but I did measure mine today. . 500" diameter. The threads however measured . 540" on the outside and were not 1/2 NC. I'm guessing something metric but by my math that calcs out to just shy of 14mm.

That might be why they are thinking it is 9/16" since 14mm and 9/16" are so close.

I was thinking you would go by the stock size of . 50" or 1/2.

I noticed the 10. 5 axle has a 3 and 5/8" axle tube where the 11. 5 is 4".

Matt,

Bolt size from DC is the 14 mm. Do not quote me on that but I am pretty sure. The SO trucks starting in 03 had the smaller rear axle for the 2500. I have some u-bolts here that might be long enough. Give me a call.

My 03 SO has a 11. 5" rear. You had to order it I believe but it was available. I did not measure the tube diameter.
