I know I didn't make any changes for the speedo or ABS or the brainpan. I really don't think the mileage is off by much but you can get one of those Abott speed calibration modules to correct it. I didn't because I heard it doesnt work with ABS (YET ) ;)

Quite frankly the 295's fit perfect. and without changing your speedo you might actually get a few thousand miles over 36k so you don't void your warranty too soon. :D :p

Resizing the computer

Hey Hokey,

Put my BFG 295/75/16's on this past Thursday and that afternoon went to Advantage Dodge where they tried their darnedest to reset my computer from the 265/75/16's that came on the truck to the new ones. No Luck!! Had the sevice manager, and the shop foreman try. The hand held computer lists the three tires that are offered on th truck and then other. When they selected other it would let you scroll thought different number values (ie. tire rpm's) when they tried to set the correct ones for my new tires it would not accecpt it. They tried and tried, and even called star, who said only the three tires offered on the truck could be input due to the EPA. These guy's at the dealer really tried , I got to stand there to watch and listen. What star said, about the epa is kinda stupid  since I think it would be important to have the truck shift at the proper speed with the new tires. It appears to be a softwear thing in the dealer computer. The computer wanted to do it but it has been limited.

mactruck, jebdog, thanks for the info. :) tell me what is a 2001. 5  is there a difference between a 2001. 0? must be i take it. just got back from a ride through the Idaho desert my new Dodge sure takes those washboard roads better than all the chevy's i've owned and with a sportsman 500 polaris atv in the back, very nice:D

2001.5

Hokey,

May be wrong but this is the way I understand it. Since the new year model is in reality started the year before, like right now or shortly DC will start turning out 2002 models but it's still 2001. Those 2002 trucks made in the last part of 2001 are 2002 trucks. Once it becomes 2002 the trucks will be considered 2002. 5. Don't really make hill of beans unless they make a design change in he middle of prodction. Mine was born in march of 2001 so it is a 2001. 5... . I think!!

I had BFGs muds 33/12. 50/16. 5 worked great for me no lift all stock suspention. I got 32,000 miles out of them now i just put BFGs all terranes on i love them not as much road noise i want to here my cummins!!!

Just say I got a set of 315/75 BFGs on a stock 4X4. If I was carefull and was easy on the steering shouldnt I be okay. Dont they only rub at full wheel lock? If they werent my dailey driving tires but just some tires I put on when I went in the Mud or the sand, then dont you think I would be okay. I have never had tires that rub so that is why I am asking, If you just straightened your wheels when they rub do you think it would damage the tires for them to rub a little?

Thanks guys! I wish the metric sized tires gave their outside diameter in their size. I will check out the charts from BFG as suggested.

My spedometer indicates about 5 mph faster than I am actually going, so bigger tires should make it just right.

I just put 285 BFG A/Ts on MT Challengers. They *just* touch the Mopar mud flaps at full lock. I'm a bit concerned what might happen off road in this situation, but it is all soft plastic, so it can't be that bad.

I like the BFGs. Pretty predictable tire that smoothed out the ride considerably from the 245 stockers and stopped my co-workers from giving me 'Pizza-cutter' jabs. However, it really did change the power band. I made a trip from Phx to Flagstaff this past weekend, and anything under 70 was a bit out of the 24v stock sweet zone with 3. 54s. After DTT upgrades and EZ with DD2s I should be happy.

Love the wheels.

305/70-16 Pro Comp's fit real nice. A little rubbing on a full lock of the wheel. Other than that, a perfect fit. Love these tires, and I've had most of the different A/T's available.

:D :D :D

OK with all you guy's buying BIG MUDDERS one of you must have your 265/75/16 oems taking up WAY to much room in your Toy Box.

So why don't you "pm" or "E" me and I would be more than happy to help you out :) Thanks KwikKurt
