How can you tell if you are getting DD2,3,4,5,6? I want to buy a used set of injectors but don't want to get ripped off does anyone know? Does anyone know how much or if any at all what gas mileage change is from 275 to DD2? DD3? DD4?

Excellent question!

I am also looking at a used set of injectors and would not be able to tell stock from super mentals. Is there any identifying marks to look for?

good question!! i would say that if you are buying from a fellow TDR member and they have sold used parts(injectors, fueling boxes etc. ) that weren't what they claimed to be that you would most likely read about the buyers bad experience here on our boards. for example: i sold my powermax 3 in the classifieds to tdr member batteringram . so if i were selling you a set of used inj. i would tell you to contact him for my credability.

other than trusting someone to tell you the truth on your used injector purchase the only other way would be to dyno your truck before and after,,keeping in mind that 100 rwhp inj. 's showed a 80 rwhp gain on my truck and might show 75 or 85 on another.

hope this helps.

p/s: i have a set of 3's in the classifieds

Used vs New

I can appreciate saving a dollar or two in most cases, but when it comes to putting used parts on my engine, I have to ask if that makes good sense. Injectors operate under high pressure and wear causes improper spray patterns. Not knowing how long a set of injectors were used on another engine and under what conditions, would make this boy spring for new ones regardless of cost savings. At least I would know I'm starting out fresh.

Just my 2 cents.

There is not anything that you can do to find out what you got before you put them in other than take them to an injection shop and have them flow tested. Even that likely will only give you an idea, I really don't think or expect DD to tell you what flow rates they make for each stage.

Put them in and dyno them, the only way to know for sure, and like others have said there is a window that each stage will make.

Buying and selling within the TDR memberships has been great for me, I have not had even one slight issue in a couple years. All goods except one item have been better than advertised, the guy that mildly hosed me is no longer a member.

Fuel economy if you use the power from the larger injectors WILL drop. If you drive the same as before it will not change.

Injectors last a LONG time. Even if they had 75K miles on them they will go a lot longer.
