Another new Forum

Never had a fuel filter problem, until now. I always change about 12k, but it got away from me this time, and went 17k before I relized it. At WOT, I started starving for fuel, and max boost was down about 5psi. I changed the filter, and noticed the pleats were distorted, almost collapsed, and the media was starting to seperate around the top in a few places. I put a new one in, and she runs normal again. I think I'll pay more attention next time, & change at 12k like I'm supposed to. DIdn't notice any particles or slime, just the normal dark color.

Eric, word of caution. Don't use Teflon tape on your tank fittings, I 100% guarantee they will eventually leak. Permatex #2 or anti-seize work great.

illflem,

Have you tried the 'yellow' grade teflon tape? It's rated for propane, gasoline, kerosene... . Seems to work great for me. The tape is still white, but comes in a yellow container.
