I have a 3300 lb. camper on my 3500 dually. When I drive it at night, a good number of people flash their headlights at me as if I am driving with my brights on. The camper lowered the rear of the truck so it is about level with the front & since the truck headlights were set up with the bed empty I can understand why my headlights are shining in peoples eyes.

Is it a simple process to adjust the headlights to a lower level? Is it something I can easily do? Thanks for your input.

Bringing this back up to the top. I also want to find out how to adjust the headlights. I only see and adjustment for side to side, not up and down

This is from the 2004 service manual off the cd I got from Genos. You fellows send me your email and I will send you a email with a attachement that is the page it is on. I ain't computer smart enough to know how to attach it to this cause I get kind of :D when it comes to computers. You can get the cd from Genos it is a lot cheaper than the paper back manual. Basically what it says is- The preferred headlamp alignment is 1" down for the up/down adjustment and 0 for the left/right adjustment. The high beam pattern should be correct when the low beams are aligned properly.

To adjust low beam hedlamp, rotate vertical alignment screw to achieve the specified aim.

My 2003 owners manual tells how to adjust the lights, at least where the adjusting screws are. They are torx head screws.

I just looked at my 04 owners manual that came with the truck and I did not see anything on adjusting the beam. It showed how to take the light out to replace a bulb and where the screws were to remove it. I thought I read somewhere on here that they are not adjustable. Thats bull if they are not. I will have to look my over good. But on the cd I have it shows adjusting them but it don't say where.

I believe this has been asked before. If I'm not mistaken the adjustment for the "side to side" is actually the adjustment for up-down. On the 2003 trucks they seem to be backwards from the way they should be. Pull up to a wall or something about 10 or 20 ft from it and make an adjustment, you can always move it back if I'm wrong. I know the 04 trucks don't have but one adjustment and I believe it is for up-down.

I like to pull up behind a large building, like in the big malls. Back off about a 100 feet so you can see the light beam pattern. Makes it real easy. Take along a black towel or something to cover up the other lamp.

I try to keep the beams straight ahead so the guy coming at you don't get the brights in his eyes. I also make my brights a little lower than normal for city traffic. Wet streets loose their stripes after dark.
