A nice TDR member told me that real performance gains can be had by setting the timing to 1. 75". Can anybody tell me how this is done?

Thanks,

RamBill

Hey RamBill!

Many of us First Gener's are running pump timing @ 1. 35mm set using dial indicators w/ the intercooled trucks. 1. 75mm seems a bit high. Check w/ Ted Jannetty for his input and he'll tell you that 1. 35mm is the magic number you're after.

Just want I've been told & have our trucks set to...

PS: I did talk to Jim Leonard in So. Cal once about timing a '93 that we bought on the west coast and he mentioned he used to time the Non-Intercooled trucks @ 1. 75mm. I don't know if he uses this same spec for the inter-cooled trucks though.
