Ok guys, I replaced my IAT sensor a couple of days ago and all is good. ;) But then I decided to reset the APPS with the voltage reading I got off of pin #23, which means I had to unplug from the ECM. It was reading . 460VDC and the APPS said it was . 568VDC so I adjusted the APPS and had the key on and off a ton of times until I got it set. It is getting lots better milage since I did all of this but I still have the codes it set when I took it apart or unplugged it. :{ What do I need to due to remove these codes. Can it be done with out getting a hand help checker to erase them. I have started if about 20 times since I did all the work and they are still there, so they did not go away in time as far as starting cycles go.

On page 25-2 in the Emissions Control and Operations section of the 2000/2001 service manual the following is stated

"With certian Diagnostic Trouble Code's, if the problem is repaired or ceases to exist, the ECM or PCM cancels the code after 40 warm-up cycles. Certian other DTC's may be cancelled after 1 or 2 good "trips".

Hope that helps.

Thanks, I guess I will have to wait another week or two to see if they go away. If not have you ever heard of the keep the key on and disconnect the positive battery cable's and reconnecting should clear the codes?????

I have not heard that one, but my guess would be that if you did that, it will discharge the memory once you disconnect the battery. What I would not do would be to reattach the battery with the key turned on. What you could do for a week is just put a piece of black electrical tape over the light and then remove it in a week.

The check engine light goes out after starting. So its not a light problem. I think I read the battery unhook thing in another thread concerning the ECM. I have not tried it thou I thought I would ask the question before do it.

I disconnected both batts overnight with the key on and it fired up without any codes the next morning. It worked for me

Well there gone Oo. I tried both methods, 1) Unhooked Batteries for 20 minutes put key in the ON position after unhooking, reconnected the batteries with key in the ON position (still there) might have been to antsy to get going and not waited the full 20 minutes. 2) Do nothing and time will clear them (3 weeks and more than 40 start cycles there gone) just when I was going to a buddys house to you his code reader and erase them. All good :D
