Here I am

How do I disable my Edge/Attitude for Service? I think the dealer Joyrode my truck.

Has anyone had this happen?

I agree with the others that have said talk to the service manager and tell him that the dealership has just lost a good customer and that you had intended to look for a new vehicle also. I think I would also talk to the owner of the dealership and tell them the same thing. Most "good" business owners don't like seeing prospective customers go down the street because of one of their employees was " out for a joy ride". If they don't take any corrective action you shouldn't go back anyway. Good dealerships are hard to find but there are still some that show appreciation to good customers and treat them right( I think) . If you leave your "box" on the truck and take it to a dealer you will end up being your own warranty like many of us. My dealer told me that after I put a box on my truck anything engine or drivetrain related was my own problem, any other warranty problem we could talk about. At least they were honest about it!

Pullya Did you go to Maxwell Dodge off hwy 620? Because thats where I purchased my CTD new, they were really nice folks, they also offered to sale me an Edge/ Juice over the counter. You may want to see them for warranty work if you have not.

I did purchase my 99 Dodge from them and the service department was pretty good to work with. Luckly I didn't have any major problems they didn't take care of. I bought my 2004 1/2 from the dealer in Giddings. Haven't had any warranty issues yet. I have learned a long time ago to service my own vehicle. The cost at a dealer is out of sight and their price on filters will make you go broke in a hurry. I always buy from either Cummins or from Geno.

Having had this happen in a big way in the past (300+ miles on a $100k BMW), I simply would have called the cops and filed a report for THEFT. Let the dealer sort through it later and NEVER return. Post the dealer so that nobody else suffers the same fate. Of course I can be a little oversensitive to things like this ;)

sag2, I don't buy vehicles to impress people and sure as heck don't want them racing them around without me. Just the sort of response I would expect from someone likely guilty of doing exactly what is being complained about.

Why would you let monkeys and lot @#%!%$# change your oil and rotate your tires anyway?

I have to agree, I guarantee you that I would have the OWNER of the dealership on the carpet, ASAP!

I just thought about this for a second. I think edge was looking out for me. It's been pretty cold around here of late. I can set my Attitude anywhere I want to from 0- 5x5 and the unit will not work until the truck hit's normal operating temps. I noticed the other day going to work, I had set my Attitude on 5x5 and drove it so to speak a little harder than usual. The truck never really produced any power above what stock would be, as the operating temps were never reached. I think the unit comes with a built in "Cold engine protection" I work about 4 miles from the house, the dealer drove about 1. 5-2. 0 miles on my truck. The truck sat for about 30 minutes before they moved it in to change oil. Lets say unless they let it idle for awhile, in 1. 5-2. 0 miles, the edge would have never kicked in regardless of setting due to the "cold engine protection"

So, is this about the truck or the Juice?

The problem lies here... .

Change your oil next time and don't let the dealer do an overpriced easy service.

If you dont have time, get a buddy to do it for you and slip him a couple bucks... .

As for disabling the edge, possibly find the power wire for it and put a switch in it, under the dash...

RJohnson, you should check your records on the attitude module. See if it says anything new as far as slip or max. rpms. Just a thought, but that is ridiculous, I'd be ****** if that happened to me. #@$%!
