I just installed a 4 inch exhaust system and I really like it. Pulling hard I can't get it over 1100 degrees and the sound makes me feel half my age. The only problem is that it takes longer for the turbo to spool up and makes catching the next gear harder. How can I get it to make boost faster?

I've asked this question too! The responses are , more fuel, better exhaust manifold and a better cam.

I am looking for an ATS manifold.

Also may build a propane quick shot ( maybe 2 seconds ) system to help built some heat.

I just need time.

Faster Spool

How about a turnbuckle or TurboMaster on the wastegate? Just spit-balling, but my brother in law installed one & his HY35 spools FAST & out spools my HW35. Considering this for my truck. Has anyone else done this?

The reason the HY spools faster then your HX is because the HY has a smaller exhaust housing. Your HX is 12 cm while the HY is 9 cm. Thought I would point this out. :)

Wouldn't a larger exhaust make the turbo spool faster because of better scavenging.

nope, it'll allow better top end charge w/ less EGT's due to less backpressure... but smaller turbine side = quicker spooling

Do a hybrid with the quickspool mods, and injectors to spool er off the line. . I notice some lag puttin around town but once it does spool its lightning fast to 40#'s

You mis-read my question. :) I was asking about exhaust system, not exhaust housing. The original post said the turbo spooled -up slower when he installed a 4" exhaust system. I do not see how this is possible.

Size may not make much difference over stock, but getting a straight-thru muffler or straight-piping it and gutting the cat will help.

One of the first things I noticed after my 5" install, was that turbo lag was cut to almost nothing. Oo.
