How dO I get a 12 Valve to get that nasty of a idle!! sounds mean :D

cams don't cause a diesel to lope... fuel does... it's a pump issue if indeed his truck is really doing that and he's not romping the throttle... governor spring issue possibly
 
With a long lope like that on a truck with that low RPM, has to be the driver bouncing his foot on teh throttle.



My truck can sound like that really easy if I tap the throttle a couple times in a row...

Generally a incjector/delivery valve/injector line/injection pump issue would have a quicker lope.

The thing that got me is that he had his foot on the brake as he goes up the hill past that auto zone. (you can see brake lights)
 
Regardless of what causes it,, It's darn hard on a heavy engine like that Cummins. I'd get it fixed if it were me!!
