Just like the title says... I need to reduce some turbo noise, I like the sound to a point but when I am in the truck for longer drive times it gets annoying.

Put in your silincer ring if you havent takin it out (which I can assume you would have already done that) Or put your airbox back in.

talk to "Cattletrkr" before you spend money on a TAG, from what I understand its almsot ruined his turbo on 2 occasions. Im not speaking negatively against the TAG, just making you aware of some of the problems other memebers have encountered.

There are different variations of the TAG. I run the TAG 1, and have for years. That's not what the other member was running.

factory air box would be the most effective silencer, and easiest since you probably already have one.

And take the "torque tube" off also. The only thing it torques is $$$ out of your wallet, especially on a stock truck.

you could ditch the AFE, that would reduce turbo noise.
And replace it with ???

I have a Super B Special Turbo so there is no silencer ring and I cant pass enough air through the stock air box

Again not enough air flow with stock box

I already tried putting the stock intake tube back on with the Super B Special and the stock intake tube will not fit, the large center section of tube hits the ATS manifold and the Hump hose going to intercooler, I know getting rid of the torque tube will reduce my turbo noise but I need to find somthing else to replace it.

What about getting some Dynamat from a car audio place for your firewall and hood? Not sure of the heat it can handle, but I know that my brother used it in alot of cars trunks when he was an installer at Circuit City and it works great to deaden noise. And if it can't handle to much heat, you might be able to put a layer of the adhesive firewall sheilding over that again...

If you've been on the road for days at a time towing a 5th wheel, it gets pretty old!

Try a Scotty II type intake system that ties into the cowl and maybe you'll rethink that.

I dont mind some whistle but it is constantat any rpm at any cruise speed, what would be nice is some whistle when accelerating but not at cruise.

What type of intake and filter setups are people here with aftermarket turbos running?
