Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) How do i set my timing on 98 12v?

I have noticed my pickup is missing when cold and i bring the rpm up. its also a bit sluggish sometimes. How do i check and adjust the pump timing? I have the B series cummins manual but i cant find anything about setting and adjusting the timing. I am a equipment mechanic and have access to most any tool needed, but dont want to screw anything up either. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the info. Does anyone know of a good shop around the Salem Oregon area that can do this. If it wasnt for the tools for measuring the lift, i would take it on, but if someone can do this quick and easy, who has done it before, i would rather they did it. thanks jake

IF,

the truck misses only upon a cold engine start, maybe some white smoke also, it is your PITA rubber fuel lines sucking air. Change them, use only marine grade fuel lines.

If you haven't replaced them then it is a good bet that they are your problem.
