I took off my predator box for dealership maintanance, then got it back, put my box back on and had one off the plugs turned around, started the truck and it ran bad. I went back under the hood found the problem and fixed it by turning the backwards plug around. It runs fine but the check engine light is one... how do i turn it off?

thanks in advance, you all are great!!

oh. . my truck is a 2003 model

is there any way i can get ahold of a scan tool without going to the stealership?

If i disconnect the batteries, will this reset the system?

I think the check engine light will go off by itself after 7 to 10 starts. Do you know that you can read the error code in the Odometer by clicking the key on and off 3 times.

Ok. . I will give it 7 to 10 starts over the next day or two... does anyone know if the codes on the board will work for the 03's and up. . they say it goes up to 02?

ok. . found the codes thread for the 03's but still cant find how to reset the computer... I unhooked both negatives on the batteries for an hour and check engine light is still on. So I guess Im off to the dealer on monday.

Do you think They will be able to tell I had a predator box hooked up?

Ok its(check engine light) off now. I unhooked both negatives on the batteries for and hour then hooked them back up and started the truck and the engine light came back on. I shut the truck off for a few more hours and started it again and now the light is off. . weird? Well the check engine light is remaining off but I did the diagnostics check with the key on and off cycle and its still throwing 8 different codes but no check engine light. . weird?

So, the scan tool should be able to remove these codes as long as there is nothing wrong with the truck right??

Otherwise if there is something wrong with the truck then I should be getting these codes accordingly. . right?

The codes will stay in memory till cleared with a scanner... ..... this is the law.

If the dealer looks and the tech is sharp he will know you have been playing;) .

You wouldnt by trying to defraud big brother would you?:--)

Best bet, find an AutoZone. They usually have a ODB-II Scan Tool available to scan your computer. They can scan and clear codes.
