When I was putting in an anti-sway bar, I checked my Ranco 5000's. They compress quite abit easier than they extend. I could get increasing resistance in both directions when adjusting the 1-5 knob. Does this sound right? I have those big bad 19. 5s on and they heavy.

Not necessarily Rancho/Dodge truck specific but... shocks are often valved differently in rebound and compression. Generally softer compression with stiffer rebound will give a better ride without sacrificing handling too much.
