Neutralizing Diesel's Idle Threat

On a quiet night...

Well heck it doesn't have to be quiet. At Mom's farm you can hear the neighbor farmers rolling around their farms and farm roads AND they're 1/2 mile or better away--driving straight-piped over-valved rigs.

Sweet. better than crickets or rain on the tin roof.

Here's what our place looks like with just us there.

well one of 'em is a gasser.

Pretty sight Wade...

... you need a "DODGE PARKING ONLY SIGN" from Genos. It seems for some reason some people stop and pull off when I get behind them. I don't know if it's the smoke or noise from the stacks   ;) ... Doug

Been waiting for the bus all day....

When your driving in the city, all the people standing in the shade, not paying attention, waiting on the bus. Get the picture. I'm driving down the road, minding my own business, and all these people at the bus stop are flippin' me the bird, looking down the street for something yellow... :D :D :-laf :-laf :-laf

Mom and Dad know when my wife and I are coming for a visit because they already have the door locked by the time I get there:D Dad can here me come up a hill that is about a mile away from the house. He really knows it when the GN flatbed is on.

When you pull into work (underground parking) and later your boss walks in to your office and asks if your truck is broken and is it supposed to sound like that? :D :D :D

Bocifus

'cuz I said so.....

Here's a few of my personal experiences...

When the rev. from the local Babtist church complains to your immediate supervisor

When people stop whatever they are doing and stare at your truck, from a distance of 100 yds.

When your wife refuses to ride in it on a regular basis, and when she does it's with her window up and the A/C on, no how nice it is outside.

When you drive by the local senior center and all the old men look, all the old women scowl.

When you are parked at the school bus stop and the line never seems to form any closer than at least two vehicles away from your truck, no matter where you park.

When men driving tri-axle tandems gawk and say " Damn, that sounds good " .

What's the record for most car alarms at once?

How about when you're driving under the train bridge and can't hear the Amtrack going over the top?

Luv that tunnel echo Oo. Oo. Oo.

It couldn't be the straight piped 6"er could it Scott?;) :D

Hope to have a pair of those by middle of next year. Gotta get a clutch and E-brake firstOo.

I had some guy asking me for directions, but giving me an attitude like I was loud on purpose.

Well, I was, but not just for him. :D

One big advantage to a loud truck is that the deer hear you coming and stay off the road more. I think the turbo whine - especially with the silencer out - gets their attention. Probably a lot better than those little stick-on whistles do.
