Hey Nick,

I think it would look way cool! but I would question how well it would handle high speed corners up there plus if you use the bed at all it will be kinda high.

If your gonna go high why not 37’s? They might look more at home under 6” of lift.

If you think you might ever tow or haul you have to admit the Toyo 35x12. 5 18 that is rated 500 lbs more per tire is a nice combo with 2” on the front.

Looks like this:

What ever you do we wanna see pics!!Oo.

Id like to stick with the 35's so my performance doesnt get too hurt. I think 37's would hurt my performance even more than 35's would. When i say performance i mean 1/4 mile:)

Tires

Nick,

Wasn't it just a few weeks back you were going to go back to a smaller tire?

I like the idea of the 37's, I think they would look great under the lift. As for killing the power, just a justification for you too add more! :D

According to a chart i found my tires now at 34. 2" are actually really good for the 4. 10 gears so i didnt go for the smaller tire

4:10

Good deal.

I Thought you were selling the truck to your dad so you could save some cash for school?

All the new mods won't be helping that cause. :D

Deal with my dad went down the tubes because of my unhappy mom yelling ans creaming about it for a whole weekend about it

As for all these mods, 45 hrs a week of work.

What chart are you talking about? I've been thinking of going with 315/70-R17's which I've been told are about 34. 5". I'm running 4:10 gears also so If there's a chart somewhere that says that these are a good match for the gears then I'll most likely go for it.

The difference between 3. 73 and 4. 10 gears is about 9%, the difference between 265/70/17 and 315/70/17 in diameter is about 8%. So switching to 315s if you have 4. 10s will make your truck geared about the same as one with 3. 73s and stock tires.

Thanks Bertram65,

I read in a post somewhere else that someone was saying they liked their 4:10's for towing but for every day driving the rpm's were too high. If the 315's will make the truck act as if has 3. 73's does this mean lower rpm's on the highway? Does lower rpm's translate into better gas mileage? How will this affect towing?

Yeah, it is less than 2K rpm at 70 MPH now, before I was at 2150 RPM. Should be better mileage, I have not filled up since changing to the bigger tires but I am hopefull. The power around town does not seem to be effected. I do not know about towing I would assume it would act just like a truck with 3. 73s and stock tires, should be fine for all but the biggest loads.

Nick, you'll have to get new wheels for these tires anyhow so why not keep the current 35's for the strip and go with the 37's for show?

And uh... I'll third the comment about editing your last post.

I think it would look good. I just put on the 37's and they are alot of tire. I think 35's on 18" rims would fill it in just fine. And as for performance definitly less rpm with the 37's and braking seems a little bit weaker. good thing i got the 410 gears,I wonder what my actual gears are with the 37's. DAVE...
