fkovalski said:I am by no means an authority on weapons. I have learned quite a bit here from fellow TDR members and still consider myself green. But, I heard a story over the weekend (on NPR of all places!) This whole assault weapon ban that was in force was a bunch of "warm & fuzzy feel good- ism" (my words. ) It was total bunk as i interpereted it! There was no ban on actual weapons. The supposed guns that were 'banned" were still available at any legitimate gun shop minus a few options. The same weapon without a compensator, bayonette mount, multi- round clip was available the last ten years as it is now! The only thing that the "ban" resrticted was the addition of the above listed items on automatic weapons. Again- I am no expert, but this is the way it seemed to me when I heard the story. Plus- it was on NPR so it HAS to be true![]()

" This appears to me to be an admission that the NICS is a complete waste of time if NICS is not able to stop "terrorists" from buying 'assault weapons' through gun stores.![]()

Turbo Dawg said:It's not about 'politics', it's about getting lied to.
You know how to tell if a politican is lying to you? His lips are moving.
Some folks have been fed such a steady diet of lies the truth distresses them.![]()
