I am !@#$^%^%^ again

Hi all,

I had a fire back in July on the second floor of my home,it is still under construction which started just one month ago,and will be another month before it is done.

I have AAA insurance and the adjuster is a complete moron,he is impossible to get a hold of,I leave messages in his office and his cell phone he never calls back.

The guys doing the work are ok,but I finally got a copy of the estimate and found out they are not replacing the floor in the room where the fire started, there is a burn spot where the fire started. Most of the damage was from smoke, well I just found out that the downstairs will get one room new paint and the othe two just wash the walls, new carpet all through the house, but the washing of two rooms and painting one room just makes me want to kick something. I cannot believe this, does this sound normal?

It takes me a lot to get me mad but now I am furious, what can I do about this,I need some advise on how to deal with this.

I call the adjuster and left him a doozy of a message that I cannot repeat here.

I have been through hell since July getting AAA off there ***** to get this going, now to top it off the construction company said he hasnt payed him one dime yet,I dont know if that is normal or not,but I am at my wits end.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can get this solved?

Thanks for any advise

Contact your state insurance commission. Also talk to the state consumer affairs division (maybe the same depts in some states).

Probably won't get too far with the adjuster leaving obscene or aggressive messages though. He will play them for the state and they will dismiss you as a hothead. So play it cool.

Make a record/log of each time you have tried to contact him-date and time. Get a tape recorder to record the conversation when you do reach him.

Good Luck.

When I can’t get satisfaction, I won’t argue long. I just keep repeating the mantra "It seems we have reached an impasse here and I would like your advice, should I now talk to your supervisor or my attorney”? Normally I will get transferred to the head honcho and we can quietly and civilly talk it out. If I am not satisfied, I repeat the mantra…. I think Dual EEs advice of keping records is pretty smart as well!
