Does anyone know how to remove those identification nameplates every dealer sticks on the tailgate? I'd like to get the darned thing off, but don't want the paint to come with it!

Thanks for the help!

I'd ask the dealer that put it on. Maybe wander into their body shop and ask one of the pros. I'm guessing it's just stuck on like everything else and would yield to some heat and pulling.

You mean it's a stick on? Grab the wife's, girlfriend, etc etc.

blow drier, heat it up and peel it off slowly. Than clean off the glue with some bug/tar remover or diesel fuel, Done deal.

Use alcahol: isopropal. It will cut right through the glue. Start on the top and dribble it on the edge and slowly pry up. It will come right off and the residue will disolve with out much effort. I do this all the time on new equipment.

Thanks guys! My wife has 2 or 3 hairdryers, we both fish, and I've got about a quart of alcohol in the garage. That ugly sticker is comin' off!!
