I'm getting ready to install new mirrors on my 1999 Quad Cab.

Before I start gouging and jerking and poking with screw drivers and pry bars, I thought I'd ask...

How do you get the door panels off without breaking something (I'd like to be able to put them back on again)?

By the way, I got these mirrors below. I don't know how good the instructions will be -- or the mirrors for that matter. Has anyone else tried these?

on my '97 there is a screw in the upper corner by the windshield and two screws in the "handle section" of the door. other then that it is all of those stupid little push pins.

your power window and locks are all hooked to the switches by a harness and you can just unplug those.

Like J said above, one screw near the upper corner on the door panel and two in the cup of the door handle. When I put my mirrors on my truck I pried back only what I needed to reach inside to take off and put the new mirrors in. You will have small plastic tabs that you will have to snap the door panel off of. You will see them when you take your screws out and look down inside the door panel, mine are yellow. I used a small piece off 2x4 and wedged it near the top of the door panel where I was working so I didn't have to hold it back. I guess you could take the whole panel off, but this saved me from snapping the panel off and more of the plastic tabs then I had to.
