I'm sorry.....

You may have gained what you call reliability, but the next time you hook to a 20,000 lb trailer and get passed/smoked pulling that 5% grade by a real pickup with a Cummins in it, you'll be back

Oh, and I got your 350Z right here! #ad

In all seriousness, good luck w/ your new ride.

You must not have lost any loved ones in WW II or studied any of the Japanese atrocities towards mankind during that time. I know the vehicles are made here, global market, blah blah. I'd change my lift pump daily before I buy Jap anything! Enjoy your new truck.

I don't mean to be disrespectful to you in any way, and I do know a lot of what the Japs did to people during the time of WWII, but the US wasn't exactly nice to them either. It was a time of war however, and as they say, war is hell and those things are expected, but it's a two-sided blade.

How many people here know about the German internment camps in the US? Anyone? Those were kept pretty low-key... there's one about 3 miles from my house, and NO, it wasn't a POW work camp.

Pit Bull

I think your just jackin with us because you decided you wanted a new truck. After all what good is rice if you don't have something to smoke it with:D

I know where your coming from. Some people just don't remember what happened in the past. My grand father saw some minor action in WWII but he still buys jap crap:mad:

But then again doesn't toyota build their trucks in the US and DC builds theirs in Mexico. Germany had a big part in WWII and isn't DC owned by the Germans?? The domestic/import lines in the sand have grown fuzzy. Kinda makes it hard to throw stones over brand preference. But that doesn't mean I have to like the fact that toyota is part of the NASCAR truck series. Just something to think about. To each his own.

Jap trucks leave more fuel for me to burn;) Get your share before its gone:D

In addition the all the WWII stuff - hey, I was born in '39, whaddya expect? - I think my Cummins has alot more "personality" than a ricer and offers endless opportunities for hands-on enjoyment. Some of those newer vehicles seem like a Dell-on-Wheels. :D If I wanna drive a truck, I wanna drive a truck. If I wanna fool around with a PC, well here I am.

Anybody know if there's a Toyota Diesel Register?

Seriously, Pit Bull, good luck with your new ride - unless you're really pulling our collective chain.

Both of my vehicles were manufactured in Japan and used over 95% Japan content. I like it that way, they know how to build cars in Japan, quality capital of the world. I must be younger than you, and your right I would never buy a car made in North Vietnam :D

To each his own. You're right, in general the quality of Toyotas is better than the big three but they do have problems. I've seen broken springs on trucks that never hauled towed or went off-road, I've seen broken exhaust manifolds and of course the major problem of body cancer. Would I buy a Toyota? Sure if I wanted a small truck. Sounds a little obsessive compulsive to get rid of a warrantied truck because of the possibility of a lift pump failure, sounds more like a mid-life crisis to me... . :D Good luck on your play toys Pit Bull, hope to see ya around.

Mmmmm 350Z. GET THE HKS exhaust. It sends Shivers down my spine the sound they make . It's just pure E V I L. Also a Toy Fan.

Not too many things can equate to a good ol american v8 muscle exhaust ... the 350 with any sounds insane but the hks is simply spooky.

Jar head,

I do respect ALL the sacrifices made by the Veterans of all the past wars. I do as much as I can for the various organizations that help them and their families. It was also one of the main reasons I enlisted and severed my time, the experience was both fulfilling and eye opening. That said, I do not know how anyone can still be holding a grudge toward any of our past enemies. War is something no one wants, and something, where no one from either side ever wins. I think any and all losses we suffered are sad, both for those that died and for those that were left mourning their loss. But those that fought against us, had just as many losses and they have grieved over that loss just as we have. The best out come of a war would be to remind future generations of it's true cost, the many lives that are lost, and the tragic impact it has on that generation of young people. WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War 1 and 2, are all wars no one wanted, yet wars we fought. Some had more support by the public then others, but all had there losses. Both sides lost a generation to violence and destruction, and both had to heal. I don't think it does anyone good to hold ill feelings toward anyone of our past enemies, that was then and this is now. Truth is, we are a global community now, and boarders have much less meaning now then they have in generations past. With innovations like the World Wide Web, we have forums like these, that allow us to talk not only to people with in or own country, but with those of many different yet alike countries.

Now days we are much more informed and aware of actions taken in foreign lands. Our televisions are full of programs that educate and depict life else where, we are not alone. The same goes for the products we buy, many are sold here but made abroad. While others are made here and owned by foreign companies. There is no longer a clear chose for patriotic support, all of the "Big Three" are co-owners of at least one foreign brand. While I will agree the Toyota, Honda and Mazda are none for their high standards and finish quality. Most of their products that are consumed in the United States, are also built here as well. Toyota in particular, has it's head quarters here in Northern Kentucky, builds the Camry in Lexington, and their Tundra truck in Indiana. They also build in many other states, but the point being it is hard to call a Toyota a jap car, or even a forgine car. They were build here in the USA, by people in the USA and are bought by citizens of the USA. What part makes them foreign?

I bet all of you dogging the jap crap as you call it would buy a toyota in a second if they put a cummins in it, and don't deny it. I wont go any further with my opinions than that. Proud owner of a Dodge, Honda, Toyota, Yamaha.

You know medicummin, if they made a true fullsize vehicle that I could fit in, I prolly wouldn't have a problem buyin it, but dag gone not everyone can fit in those things. I still can't understand the thought process behind buying a car/truck with a motor that when an exhaust is put on sounds like a ****** off weed eater. My grandpa has a tundra, and he has been buyin gmc's since the 60's. I asked him about it, and he said that he wanted reliability and it sounds and runs like a sewing machine when he starts it up. No flamin at all, just a difference of opinion, like pherd and chebbie. Good luck to ya and enjoy the ride. James

Hey I will miss you guys. I found while I owned my 2000 3500QC 4x4 and then my 2002 3500RC 4x4 that the TDR guys are the best. I do still look every time I hear a CTD coming down the road. I love the looks of the trucks but just never really needed one. I once put two 50lb bags of dog food in my Linex covered bed of my 1 ton truck :) The truck was wasted on me, but it sure did look and sound good to me. I just figured you guys would get a good laugh out of how far a field I went with my vehicle selection. The other day I had my 350Z in getting it serviced and a saleman caught me looking at the new Nissan trucks while I was killing time. We started talking trucks and I told him I had owned a couple of Dodge CTD's and it I was ever going to get another truck it would have to have a CTD in it. He asked me if I realized that FORD OWNED CUMMINS :) I started laughing out loud, I think he thought I had lost my mind. I did not correct him since I figure anyone selling trucks should make sure their customers know how smart they are and I did not want to raise this guys IQ one point.

Pit... I'm hangin' my head in shame... a fellow Ozarker going down the wrong road. ;)

Hey--you are the one who has to own and drive it, you might as well get what perks you up!

Of course for me that will always be a Cummins equipped truck!:D

See ya in June!

The Z does 0-60 in 5. 3 and the Yota 4runner V-8 does 0-60 in 7. 4 seconds. Both are fun to drive. I got the Xreas shock system on the 4runner, it ties the diagional shocks together with a resorvior cylinder. Makes it handle like a sports car and smooths out all of the bumps in the road. The Z handles like a race car. Guess I'm going through a second childhood :) Give me a shout when you get here in June we can go for a meal and catch up.
