How do you insert the smiley faces in the text of the message??

I have seen many people on TDR insert the smiley faces etc. in the text of their messages. How do you do this? I can't seem to figure it out.

There is a little box of smilies to the left of the panel you type in. Click on the one you want.

If you think you feel like an idiot, I have read and reread the instructions and still don't know how to post the smiley faces. On top of that, at least you had the gumption to ask how to do. I just sat here for weeks admiring those who knew how.

I just blundered around until it worked. That's the way I do a lot of things. You would be surprised at what you can stumble over and find out that way.
