I have been trying to get Toyo Open Country 285 70 17 10 ply and it is impossible here in Az. Dealer recommended Nitto tires. Have not heard about these. How is the ride, wear etc. I need a tire rated at 3700# +.

Thanks for any info.

Cliff

MY son just put a set of 305 70 16 Nitto Terra Grabber on his F350 a couple months ago and he likes them. A friend of mine is running 295 75 16 on his 2000 Dodge and gets 60,000 miles out of them.

i just got a set of 285/70/17 E rated and so far so good. very good ride. and great rain traction. so far thats all i have noticed

my bother had 35's on his and i don't think he got more than 20k out of them. Of course i think his driving technique had a little something to do with that but i know some of the guys on here said the same thing about not getting much mileage out of them. Just what i've heard so far cause i was going to get them but didn't cause of the mileage thing.

I had 295/75/16 Nitto TerraGrapplers and after about 20K they were worn badly. I rotate every 5K miles and run proper pressures. Never again.

I liked my Nitto Terra Grapplers for their traction, but they wore out pretty fast. I barely made 30,000 miles on them.

well considering that i only got 23,000 miles out of the stock bfgs i will be happy to get 30k out of these. i dont know what you guys who are getting 40k plus out tires sre doing.

I got 72K out of the stock BFG's. Rotated every 10K. I could have got more but the sidewall cracking made me nervous. Mine just ran up and down the highway, very little off road or towing.

i rotate my tires every 6,000 miles and still got 22,000 out of my stockers only towing about 4 times heavy.

i can say after driving in this tropical storm that the nitto's do exceptional in the rain.

I got 50,000 out of my first set of Nitto 295/17's. I run 65psi and rotate about 10,000. Mostly highway and only tow a light utility trailer rarely. The wet traction seems very good. I have to try fairly hard to break um loose in the rain. They work pretty good in the snow too. The stock Michelins were like black ice anytime a few raindrops hit the pavement. I could have squeezed a few more thou out of the Nittos but got a deal on another set with wheels. Only three hundred miles and a guy took them off to put on 35's. I have been happy enough to go with them a second time.

Cant comment on the wear... but...compared to a BFG that may last twice as long, its a no brainer.

The fact they dont pickup any rocks and chip away at my paint, I will happily replace tires every 20k than pay for a repaint. Those BFG's find & sling every rock.

I like the way the Nittos look, ride, sound (quiet) and handle. Mine are D rated, 295/70/17. I do not tow with them as I put the stock wheels & tires back on for that-many reasons. . no spare, didnt recal trans/speedo, SO w 3. 73, etc etc.

Only 15k in 3 years anyway, mileage not my concern. Good luck with your choice----

46,000 miles and going. :-laf. Not saying they are in the best of shape though. :-laf. I have plans for some new ones, but trying to hold off till winter. I like to throw on some new treads just before winter for pushing snow.

I looked at another members truck this past weekend that had 41,000 miles on his BFG's. They looked like they still had half their life left. :--)

Driving lots of highway miles. I get in my truck and drive. I might only hit the brakes or turn a street corner 3 or 4 times in 200 miles. I have 33k on my Nittos. They are probably a little over 1/2 worn.
