It is not a problem solely on "B. O. M. B. ed" trucks. It can, it does, and it has, happened in many separate instances on stock trucks. There is a wealth of reading available in the TDR archives on this subject. Also articles in back issues. We have a lot of new people asking the same questions without taking the time to read back a year or two... you'd be surprised how much you can learn if you do so. A lot of technical information and how-tos, from experienced mechanics who have been there, done that, but got tired of answering the same questions over and over in this forum.
As for Dodge, they do not, and never have, given a flip about preserving any part of your truck in order to save themselves on warranty costs. The lift pump issue is one they are aware of, and it may have been corrected in the 2002 model. MAY HAVE. I DO NOT KNOW THAT FOR SURE. I doubt it, as the new common rail fuel system in 2003 will probably do away with those pumps. Dodge WILL NOT recall or othewise help us out on this lift pump issue. Anybody that believes otherwise, pass me some of what you be drinkin'. Forgive my bluntness. All of what I've said here has been proven, independent of my opinion or anything I could say.
