Its left hand thread. I use a long chisel or air hammer and place it on the corner of the nut and whack it 2-3 times and it spins off. If its a manual trans the whole thing will come out the bottom, if an auto trans the cooling lines are in the way and you have to un bolt the fan from the clutch and remove them 1 at a time after getting the clutch loose from the engine.

I tried, I failed

I just am not able to get the nut loose.

I gave up and will take the truck to my local stealer

A big wrench and something to hold the pully from moving.

I believe the nut is 1-7/16" hold the pully and spin it off, it is backwards remember;) ( left handed thread)

Don't give up so easily, you can buy all the tools you need for less than a trip to the dealer. If you don't have access to an air hammer use a long drift (piece of rebar will work) and hit the nut on the right side of the flat real hard a couple times with a hand sledge, it will come right off with a 1-7/16" wrench and pair of large water pump pliers to hold the pulley then. I've always been able to pull the entire assembly out the top without taking it apart, it is sort of a trick but it will come out without removing anything else.
