How does a Bully Bar mount on truck?

I'm considering a Bully Bar for the front of the truck, maybe from Smittybuilt, but I'm curious how they mount on the truck? Anyone have them and can tell me? Do I lose the tow hooks?

The ones that I've seen usually mount to where the tow hooks mount to the frame...

And some of them have supports back through the grill...

I have had a bull bar built by ali arc that mounted under stock bumper into frame, so everything stayed on.

this was on a 98. 5, new ones might be different.
