Hey guys, sold the fancy '08, coming back to the 12 valve neighborhood.
Ok, this question is going to reveal my (under 40) age :-laf
I was wondering how does the BD turbo mount brake sound compared to the typical pacbrake exhaust brake? On my '95, I had the old style pacbrake with the 60lb springs and with a straight pipe it really growled, almost like a compression brake on a big rig. I am looking for that same sound again, and of course the braking capabilities.
I was looking at the PRXB until I found out about it being a hisser:-laf So now I am looking at either the conventional pacbrake, the BD vacuum operated brake or the BD compressed air operated brake. From BD's literature, it sounds like both BD styles are a proportional brake so that it will deliver max braking all through the RPM range, does anyone know if this is correct or if it is only with their more expensive air cylinder operated brakes.
Oh, and let's not forget about how they sound:-laf
