it's capable of more than 700 just depends on what box they put on.

Can't wait to see the truck! I thought he was going with twins from II the last I spoke with him? What made him change his mind?

Never mind his truck... how's your engine build-up going?

I have a new cylinder head coming for an 06, i am going to do my own porting, i will keep the 3-flows, getting my stage 2 dual feed from II, ARP STUDS AND A 200 GPH FASS, I WANT TO RUN THE HELIX TWO AND VALVE SPRINGS BUT STARTING TO RUN INTO BUDGET ISSUES, I WILL TURN THE BLOW OFFS UP TO 75-80 PSI DEPENDING ON THE SMOKE LEVEL, I HAVE A TWO STAGE SNOW GOING ON, I WILL PROBABLY ADD SOME STRENGTH TO THE FREEZE PLUGS ALSO, THE PISTONS ARE STOCK, I HAVENT GOT TO HONE ENOUGH TO SEE IF I NEED TO HAVE IT BORED... . NOT SURE WHICH BOXES I WILL RUN, AS FOR BEARS TRUCK HE WILL RUN THE SILVER BULLET FIRST AND IF HE DOESNT LIKE IT THEN HE WILL TRY TWINS, I THINK HE IS GETTING A SMARTY TOO, HE ALSO JUST GOT A NEW WHITE MEGACAB AUTO LARAMIE WITH SRT HOOD LIFT AND 20'S IT LOOKS AWESOME... I HERD YOUR TRUCK IS A SCREAMER TOO, WHEN R U HITTING THE DYNO..... I WISH I HAD MORE TIME AND MONEY TO BUILD A FULL ON RACE MOTOR THAT IS STREETABLE, ... .

sounds like a great setup so far. just make sure you have a clutch/transmission to hold all that power. I say 650 hp on the dyno

Just a heads up if you don't already know, the 06's exhaust valves are now set at 0. 026 rather than the 0. 020.

The intake valve clearance remains the same as the previous years: 0. 010

isnt it like that because the 06 eng runs hotter, i will play with valve lash settings hot and cold to see the differences, thanks for the info

I was told that the valve seats are made from a different material than previous years. I don't know if it's true though, one thing I do know for sure is the 06 DOES RUN MUCH WARMER than any of my other trucks have!

If I were you I would find out for sure if the seats are indeed made of a different material, seems to me that adjusting the EX valves to 0. 020 could hurt your wallet.

Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll head up to Meridian, Idaho. I've spent the past couple of weekends fixing a lot of minor exhaust and fuel leaks, which should also help performance going forward. I've also been playing around with different boxes with the modded CP3 to see what feels best to me before I go dyno so I don't waste a lot of time.

I still have to install my new DD clutch and upgraded hydraulics sitting in my garage the past 3 months. Might get Bear to help me since I helped him install his DD clutch :-laf . He just lives down the street from me so that is pretty convenient. I have all the tools and transmission jack etc. - it's just a matter of getting motivated now.
