I am pulling a 28 ft. Jayco Eagle 263. I want to wait to get gauges until these companies figure out how to make a decent 2 gauge pillar that fits. My question is--- In stock form, how hard can I push the motor without burning up a turbo? I have a friend who says I can push it all I want in stock for and can't harm it. Is this true? Thx.

I have never...

been able to hurt my CTD entines in the '92 or '99 in stock form. I now have a EZ on my '99 and I can get the EGTs pretty hot. :D

I've got gauges and an AFE filter (essentially a stock truck) and I've been dragging around 10,000 lbs all summer long. Even climbing mountain passes with relatively high outside temperatures (90+ degrees) I can't get over 1000 deg pre-turbo.

I think it's safe to say the stock trucks are well protected against aggresive drivers.

PCline - Your probe is broke. :D I could get mine to 1200pre/1000 post easily, 7% grade, 90 degrees, 7500 lbs load, 65 MPH. But not since the EZ and Boost Elbow were added. Tows GREAT now(and before), and cooler too!

Yes, you can push it as hard as you want, just stay above peak torque, that is don't lug the engine, when pulling a hill hard, keep the boost up by keeping the revs up. Drop the revs and boost and the EGT will climb higher than I would be comfortable with.

Don't be afraid of the redline, be afraid of the lower revs.
