fuel prices here in so cal are out of control. i'm seeing prices in the $3. 19 per gal range!!! our low numbers are &2. 99 and 9 tenths... apperently one of the diesel refinerys went down for "maintainence" HOW CONVIENT!!!!! any one know the price for b-20 or even b-100?

greg

I looked to find a biodiesel station in so cal to no avail. i would love to start using it. Most all the stations are in the middle of the country. You would think being California they would be pioneers in the Biofuel industry. Apparently we only want clean air and low renewable fuel when it is making certain people money. It's such a sham!!!! I don't mean the oil companies either. They only refine the oil anymore, as long as they can refine something ie. . soy beans and such they would do it.

You would need to be crazy to buy a diesel truck now! :{

I don't think we're going to run into problems until fuel reaches almost $4 per gallon. IMHO that's the breaking point. It will have a negative effect on our economy.

I have to say that so far ours is remaing in the 2. 30-240 range, if it hits 3. 00 here were done for, the farmers won't be able to buy it and the only fuel stations will be selling is for large trucks and construction companies, but those are the one's that can pass the buck down when they make out a bill for services they will just raise their prices for services.

Thats okay im biding my time with regular diesel and as for biodiesel on the market, there is no reason it should be way lower than regular diesel already... just another product they can burn you with.

In town today I saw at a Shell station regurlar unleaded $2. 59. 9, #2 diesel $3. 29. 9, not only is the price sky-rocketing but the price spread is widening, that's almost a . 60 cent difference :--) :--) I may have to park the truck!

Bio Diesel

I'm getting Biodiesel in Ventura at T. W. Brown Oil Company. They carry Diesel, B-20, B-100 and unleaded. Last time I checked B-100 was $3. 19 a gallon. They're on the CFN fuel station network.

Their address is 1457 Fleet Ave. in Ventura, CA 93003. The phone number is 805-339-2355.

I bet Dino diesel climbs until B100 beats it in price then B100 will really take off. Who ever has the best price, supply and demand.

I don't really see hy it matters if the price is skyrocketing. . we all have to get to work, and drive our trucks, so we're going to pay it. Simple as that. I for one won't run biodiesel in my truck, but thats only because I don't know what the stuff will do to my truck. That being said, I paid 3. 01/gallon today, 33 gallons to fill up, and it cost me 100 bucks.

Scott

Biodiesel won't hurt your truck at all. In fact if you check your owners manual our trucks are factory approved to run B-5.

I've run as high as about B-75 with no problems.

Rudolf Diesel originally designed his engine to run on peanut oil.

It runs a lot smoother and quieter, it smells kind of like propane to me. I love the stuff.

I live by Royal and Madera in Simi Valley if you want to check it out. Right now I'm running a ratio of about B-50.

I've actually though about making my own out of used cooking oil but there would be start up costs and then collecting the used oil from restaurants. I've read that you can make it your self for 45 cents a gallon.

Just 1% of biodiesel doubles the lubricity of diesel fuel. It also cleans your tank and the whole fuel system of any gunk that might be in there from the petro diesel.

i drive thru simi every morning... . where do you fill up?

greg

Depends on where I'm at. I've only been in Simi for about 7 weeks, around here isn't as cheap as "The Valley".

At Los Angeles and about First street is a Texaco I've bought from twice. some there told me at Tapo and Cochran is the cheapest place in Simi but they're getting new tanks now.

In the Valley, Chevron at Roscoe and Louise is usually one of the cheapest. Otherwise Canoga and Saticoy or Canoga and Sherman Way are usually a few cents more.

Now that I live in Simi I don't mind driving to Ventura to fill up on weekends or if I'm headed up that way on weekdays.

here in the Atlanta area Diesel is less. . yes, less then reg unleaded.

I payed 2. 29 yesterday, the closest reg unleaded price I could find was 2. 35
