It's really been hot here. I'll bet it got up to 80 one day last week. About 68 right now at 10:30 AM.

Hey Joe, ... ... . darn, where's that KMA smilie like the other guys have?? j/k :p

It was 115 when I left home at 4:00 pm friday, Mesquite Nevada was 120 at 6:00 pm when I drove through :{

Its not so much a "dry" heat as it is a "HOT" heat :{

its been in the triple digits the past couple weeks here in south central texas... . sure beats the shivvering cold weather of the northeast! :-laf

looks like this week its going to be cooling down some due to the hurricane in the gulf... . mid to high 90's all week...

In the NW it's been pretty mild this year. Our 1st day over 100 just came Friday, about a month later than we often see. I'm not complaining though!

The SW is cooking because the jet stream has been riding pretty low all year and keeping the heat down there and keeping it from coming this way.

Carlsummers your humidity is probably more like 30-40% when it's near 100F, nowhere near 100% I'm sure. Check it on weather.com.

I dont know whats worse, the high 90 temps or the high humidity. Oh wait, I do know... its the temps in the engine room while performing sea-trials. 130+, and ditto on the open pores... . then I get to hang over the 180 deg iron to fix an a/f leak.

Left windows up on the EX, everything was too hot to touch. Wifey's rear view came off today... added to honey dew list. Stopped @ WaWa for a large Chilly Willy. (The ultimate thermometer) Liquified before I hit bottom. Paid for that with major bloat attack. Sorry for the rant... it was one hlva day... stay cool y'all...

Vaughn, it rains like no tomorrow almost every afternoon. Doesn't cool it down much, just makes the humid-heat worse. Humidity is 100%. When it's not raining, it's nothing unusual for the humidity around here to be 95 - 99%. Its's so bad, that when I get home from work (about 7:30am), the tiles on my covered patio are wet (strickly from humidity). Those of us with respiratory problems down here have to stay inside... . it is literally dangerous to get out in this weather.

It's been over 100 for the last 6 or 7 days now. Been cooling off to high 60's at night. I just got the pool all cleaned and ready to go so the heat won't be as bad now.

the heat we have up in my area is fine, but the humidity is too much. . the last few days working on nights, the air was so humid it was wet... changing your cloths 3-4 times a shift is too much [8hrs] and i pulled a double shift yesterday :rolleyes:

It's been over 90 the last few days.

Problem is the humidity.

When you get up in the morning, and you can SEE the air outside, you know it's gonna suck! :{

I'm still looking for a place that it's 60-65 dry & breezy year round.

It's better today. At 2:00pm it's 94 deg with 71% humidity, according to the local online weather.....

That's pretty humid for sure! Weather.com shows 91F and 57% but that's at 3:25pm and the humidity probably already peaked for the day. Heat index shows 100F for that combo. Nice 'n sticky!

EDIT: Doing some quick checking looks like Durham NC is the hottest/stickiest in the entire east right now, 96F@51% humidity = 106F heat index.

I unloaded a tractor in Phoenix a couple of days ago and it was 115. Here where I live I was toldthe farmers are feeding chickens ice cubes to keep from getting hard boiled eggs.

It got up to 83 today here in Camarillo, CA (about 40 miles up the coast from LA)... but it was about 103 at my job site in the San Fernando Valley.

Las Vegas tied its all time record yesterday at 117, Colorado saw 105 at several places, that's over 5000 feet!

Did some digging on the 'net to see what sort of the all-time records we have for this area:

Pasco - 115

Hanford - 113

Walla Walla - 114

Othello - 114

Ephrata - 115

Moses Lake - 115

Ice Harbor - 118

Almost all were set in August 1961.
