Mod #1. GAUGES!!!

2 a big camplate.

3 injectors

4 timing

That should get you around 400~ish

The auto trans is pretty weak. It'll need help probibally just after the big camplate. :-laf

buy a duramax

custom plate, 370's or big EDM's, big single or twins, cut delivery valves, pump timing, get your pump tweaked by someone that knows what there doing and you should be there

i live in oxford MI, about an hour north of detroit, thanks for the info so far but keep it coming

no i cant take a joke i like trucks with injectors that last over 60,000 miles. LOL

like everyone said start with the transmission built to reliably handle 500 HP i dont have any experience with a dunrite coverter or their shift kit but i dont see it realiably handing that kind of power. After that i would contact piers www.piersdiesel.com and just tell him exactly what you want and he will set you up.

i would call all the major transmission builders and tell them what you want. then see which one you feel more comfortable with. remember, you get what you pay for.

Call Darryl Poole (Diesel Darryl). 810-853-1060 he can get you to what ever power level you like for a reasonable price.

1. Gauges

2. #100 plate slid forward

Bigger delivery valves won't be necessary to hit 500hp.

3. Skip the HX-40. Won't be enough. I've already maxed mine out. If you don't tow, a turbo like a HTB2 64/14 may be fine. I'm looking at doing twins myself, though, instead of a larger single. I suspect the 5000 would be a lag pig down low.

4. 370s or bigger

5. 3k GSK (governor spring kit)

6. Advance the pump timing

7. Probably will need to do head studs at minimum.

Should get you pretty close. Look in my sig to see what I have for a transmission.
