I suggest drive till 11:00 or midnight thats 7-8 hours stop and sleep wake up at 6 or 7:00 am Fri drive that should put us there around 1 and 2 pm. Fri. So what do you say?

What time does this put you through Danbury there Figster? Around 5PM, I'm guessing? Soldie, would this work for you? I have it on good authority that it's about 2hr 15min from Danbury to Norfolk MA.



BTW, I want one of your laptop mounts. Could you make me one? I'll pay you for it.

I think we should do the thursday a. m. thing. Drive halfway,stop at a campground and relax by a fire and toss some empty 57mm shells into a pile. stop around 3:00 and that will give us 7-8hrs to relax,eat,drink and talk without dealing with truck stuff... . just an idea. .

So far the Figster has the right idea. Like I've said before, I'd prefer to drive straight through, but this deal would assure a nice arrival time on Friday, leaving some leeway to screw-off before the dinner that night. Sounds cool to me.



I don't know if I can keep up with Figgy though? Hopefully he will wait up for me... ...

Leaving at 4pm and driving straight through is cool but this isn't THE CANNONBALL RUN!!!! . It gets us there with a few hours to relax and clean up before the steakhouse party,but. . If we leave at 7am like the original plan,we can drive 1/2 or even 3/4 of the way,stop at a campground,relax by a fire and toss some empty 57mm shells into a pile and chat without dealing with any truck stuff,Heck I don't know what anyone does for work. would be cool to sit and find out... . hold-on,gotta wipe away the tears:{ ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... It's beginning to look like we have two firm plans for how to get there, and quite likely, two caravans will form up. Is there anything wrong with that?

I'm all for, "The more the merrier" but if folks have strong preferences, then to each their own. Everyone is happy, no?

Anyone else following this thread that wants to leave early to mid Thurs. afternoon should indicate this soon as well. Cannonball Run? Well nobody said we had to set land speed records ( our fruity friends at Banks have already done that for us), but there's no shame in putting the hammer down when you have to.



Matt, as you've observed it looks as if there may be two convoys. Oh well. Which one will you be in? Oh yeah, one other thing. For some sleeping in their trucks may sound cool. But I sure as hell don't plan on sleeping in mine on the way to Muncie. I did enough in-cab sleeping this past winter to last me the rest of my days. It'll be hotels only for this guy.

I am right off I84,when you guys hit NY state,someone call me on my cell,(MTE)and ill meet up with you guys at exit 5 off I84. We plan on leaving with you guys or earlier. I have to work thursday until 3pm anyway.

I tentatively plan on jumping on I84 in the Hartford area around 4o pm.

MTE , let me know what exit off I84 to meet you, should arrive there in Danbury around 5o pm. if thats OK? please PM me with your cell # I will do the same.

BSoldie , I could meet you off an exit on either I84 or I91 in the Hartford aerea let me know whats best?

Any one else who is interested let me know It would actually be better to meet off an exit on I 84 I have a good one in mind on the Hartford / West Hartford line.

OK, Weaties-the original plan was to leave at 7am thur. So myself and Mike(Elmo)took thur off,if we leave in the afternoon,I loose a vaca day and mike looses a days pay. So I'll be the first in line for the am departure... ... . I guess that big CONVOY AHEAD sign won't work if there's only a few trucks. . :{ . I'm not trying to :-{} with every one but we need a plan SOON... .

Alright guys,



Whatever gave me the idea that the major choice would be whether we went camping or stayed in a motel? Seems like we have two groups that are clearly determined to stay with one plan or another. The original plan was to go down Thursday morning, stay overnight in a motel, and was Scott's idea. The idea to camp was Mactruck's in case anyone is taking credit.



The guys that want to leave Thursday afternoon are most likely going to regardless of what anyone else wants to do. The guys that want to leave Thursday morning seem equally committed.



As much as I would like to leave on Thursday afternoon, I feel obligated to stick to the original plan and the morning departure. If you all are still determined to go camping, I'm going to leave it up to someone else to locate an appropriate campsite. Otherwise, we're going to stay in a motel and do our partying where we can.



So we're go for an AM departure. Soldy, Figgy, and Snowman --- have a good trip guys. We can have a contest to see who has the most fun getting down there.
