I love my new truck but, Dodge must have saved a few bucks when it came to paint. It is sooo thin under the hood and there is nothing but undercoat in the bed pockets. Is anyone else noticing this lately? It is also very light in the door jamb's. :(

The underside of my 04, patriot blue, looks like the base coat color and I have no complaints except that the light colored basecoat sure shows when the dark blue gets a scratch. My three year old is pretty good at being 30 yards away from the truck and still running in to it.

The paint on my new 04. 5 is awesome , very flat (no orage peel),

I thought they must have done something to it at the dealership, but it feels like that on the underneath the bed and in the door jambs also . It is bright silver met.

With the exception of a paint chip on the door handle and some trash in the paint on the roof, both of which will be fixed tomorrow (no charge) mine seems to done pretty well. I see what you mean about the bed corner holes though (no biggie). Overall------hats off to the good folks in Saltillo, Mexico! They put together a tight truck!

My truck is Deep Molten Red and when I went to pick it up at the dealer that was the first thing I looked at. The paint job is perfect, door jams etc. They must have painted it on Wednesday. I'm very happy with the truck.

My Bright White 2500 appears to have an exceptionally good paint job... ... . maybe because it's white and a harder color to get good coverage.

Greg: Got any pics of that bad boy?

I have seen Atlantic Blue, Bright Silver, and Graphite Metallic 'Sport' trucks... but haven't seen a white one yet... .

Yep... ... just click on the "Reader's Rigs" link below my user id. Almost bought an Atlantic Blue, but I like the white a fraction better.

Dunno if you guys have taken your door panels off yet, but whenI did, I noticed they didn't even bother to paint the center/inside of the doors!

My 02 was graphite and it just scratched right off with the lightest provocation. Hated it. Just turning in the bed with dust on my shoes left a circle of scratches. My new 04 I pickup Monday is silver which is the closest I figured to primer color and should look nicer longer. geusterman
