Ordered my first Cummins (24v) in Jan 98, received Apr 98. Sold it in 01, and bought a 2001. 5 HO. Will probably hang on to the 01 ETH/DEE for awhile as I use it quite a bit to tow with.

When extended warranty expires, hopefully by spring 04, I plan on adding injectors and fueling box. I'll be able to test the bombs when I tow my boat back to Alaska for a two-month fishing trip.

The Cummins is awesome, I plan to upgrade to a newer one in a couple of years. Who knows, maybe the wife will let me have two of them. Anyone know a good, cheap jeweler?

This is my first Cummins RAM. I bought it new in April 2002. I have enjoyed every single one of the 24,500 miles on her. Looking forward to many more and making some more power with her as well. I don't ever see another gas pick up in my future either. First diesel and i ain't never looking back.

Ordered my first Dodge/Cummins in Febuary '94. Now it has 127,000 miles on it and still looks and drives like new. It has never let me down.

I will buy another in a heatbeat... but I CAN"T wear this one out.

I have lost all intrest in Gassers too. I couldn't see myself ever buying another one.

Dad bought his 93 in the spring of 97. We had always been a Ford family until then (I had a powerstroke at one point). I loved that his truck took the abuse without the breakdowns we were used to, I started looking for a used Dodge the summer of 02 when my 95 Ford (460) started knocking. Ended up going new August 3rd 02, one week after my Ford started knocking. I have been 100% converted since then, the Dodge truck in general fits my needs better than any other truck I have ever owned or have any experience with.

My truck rocks, I hope I can keep it forever (my first new truck), and fear ever having to part with it.

I was a member of the "ETH/DEE waiting club" back in April 2000. Remeber those posts? Wonder how many people still have their ETH from then and how many miles. Me 22K.

Since december of '97. A '98 12v 5 speed, ordered the fist of june or july(whenever they start taking orders). That is when they offered the first quad cab/short bed configuration(also sport colors). ordered it in red, but went on a trip to utah for 2 weeks for work in october, seen the new models that arrived out there and came home and changed my order to the new intense blue color. The dealer said no problem, would keep the old truck on the lot to sell and ordered me another one.

I was debating on the blue before I had ordered the first time but it was a new color and the little 1/2 inch paint chip can't give you any idea of what the whole truck will look like. Seen the new color in utah and ordered another truck.

Well, around end of november dealer said the truck was put on hold, a new engine was to be put in the trucks now(new 24 valve). Didn't really want that, but it was out of my hands. Luckily they had some problems or something with the 24valves and sent out another shipment of the 12 valve engines. Recieved it december 23rd, a really nice christmas present!:D So actually my fist Cummins was actually two trucks. yeah!

Traded in the 12 valve in June '03 on my new truck I had ordered. Didn't really want to get rid of the '98, but finances wouldn't let me keep both. I wouldn't have done so if it wasn't for the new engine. I really didn't care for the 24valve in comparison to the 12v. To me it seemed like you really had to rev it to have the power that my 12v had. The 12v had power down low, I think very similar to the new hpcr today.

Only problem is that I really miss the sound of my staight piped 12v. I will have another someday! If I could just get the new one to sound right.

Thanks for listening to my story.

i bought him in '99 with 150,000 miles on it. Now it has 212,000 miles on it. Best freakin' vehicle i've ever owned.

Since May of 96'... I put about 190,000 on that truck in 7 years, then bought the 03' in May of 03', have about 18,000 on her.

Had I known then...

half of what I do now, it'd be close to 10 yrs. Farmer down the road from me had an 89 W250, auto, 3. 07. Put 250K on it, never had a lick of trouble, got 18-20 mpg (not bad for a 3spd auto), and ran it HARD. Outpulled our 7. 3 Ford. But, I was a young twerp, and not into diesels at the time (the 7. 3 was doing well to get into the teens empty), didnt know about the outstanding MPGs.

I wised up in the summer of 99, and bought a 92 D350, after waiting about 5 hrs too long to decide on a 91 D250. Mom later bought that first CTD of mine, and I have had 5 since then- all 1st Gens.

Test drove a red W250 1989 when it was new, I knew then the Cummins would be a hit. Bought my first Cummins in Dec 1997, a W250 1989 auto. Now also own a 1996 2500 clubcab auto purchased Feb 2001 and a 1999 Freightliner/Thomas with Cummins ISB (24valve) and Allison bought in May 1999. Altogther they have 550,xxx miles!

2 years and 1. 5 months, wouldn't trade for anything else but another diesel.

my dad got one in 94 when they first came out with the new body style (tons of compliments!!) and have been hooked since.

Jan 1995 -- 94 Ram 2500

Jan 2000-- 99 Ram 2500

Jan 2004-- 04 Ram 3500

I am starting to see a trend... . They keep getting bigger and better.

Cummins wasn't out yet when I bought a new 1984 Ford 6. 9 diesel. Drove it 12 years, 200,000 miles. It nickel-and-dimed me to death with glow plug troubles/related electrical troubles. Traded it July '96 for the '93 W250 w/40K on it. Now has 133K on it; still love it.
