How long on ordered trucks???

I see posts here about trucks with order dates of 9/20 ( same date as mine) 10/4 with status codes of D1 or KZ. I called today and was told still BG same as on 9/25. So I ask why? Told that the order system is full and can't take any more orders. So I ask when? Told maybe the order will get in the system in Nov. I have alway bought off the lot, first time I ordered a truck think it will be the last.



My luck I buy a duck it drowns, I order a truck and it ???

Is this done on an allocation system and the dealers that have sold the largest number of trucks last year get the most slots for the 2003's. That seems like the only reason for the difference???

New Orleans?

When I called to check my truck's status again today, I asked about the New Orleans thing based on Fritz's web page info. The CSR told me my truck will (hasn't yet ) go by train to Vera Cruz, then go by ship to Tampa, then get trucked across the state to my dealer.



That sounded convoluted enough that it put a pretty good damper on my hopes for getting it in time for my trip. Then I stopped by the dealer, and asked if he had any feel for past realized shipping times--he said around 20 days. That puts me back in that slim margin for hope category again.

I do believe it has something to do with the size and volume of

sales of the dealer, but I also remember my salesman making

sure he ordered under some 99 code that meant "expedite-

sold vehicle" and not just for the lot. Mine is coming along

much faster than the 12 week quoted. I hope to be into it

within 10 days. They told me average deliveries out of Mexico

to customer are taking 16 days right now.

Is anybody thinking 2x about taking delivery with the threat of

the economy/war? or are we just too loyal?:--)

Feel the Pain

I feel your pain. I ordered 8-22, Truck arrived at the dealer last Friday. It's still sitting there because some moron dented the hood while in transit. Kind of took the wind right out of my sails. Why Me... Someone tell me the good part of this so I can take back that "glass is half full" approach.

My Truck arrived last week and the truck driver put my truck on the top. it was ok until a tree was lower then my truck. Broken windshield dented roof, I refused the truck and are now waiting on another one to come in.

with an estimated shipment date

of 11-18-02

Just called and my truck is "JS" status. Shipped to storage, that is just dandy. Wonder how long they store them and for what reason? You would think on a sold order that they would ship out asap. Probably going to hold it till the $1000. 00 rebate expires. If so, they might just get to keep it. No, I take that back, they will get to keep it if I determine that is the reason for it being shipped to storage.

Already past, Nov 8th was the est. ship date.

That sure doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling about my estimated shipping date of Nov 18... I think I'll do some h*ll raising if they put it in storage the 18th and then ship it on the 4th of Dec. Keep me informed on the status of your truck kkirkpatrick... ... . and I'll let ya know on the 18th the status of mine.....

Use the posted connections to the shippers and call and bug

them. I got mine tagged to be expedited and it was 1 week

early shipped that would have sat at Cassens transport in

inventory. This is not including the 5 weeks early it was built.

Just called today to check my status, as my truck had a ship date of yesterday. . It's JS, in storage. But luckily I got a helpful CSR this time, and she's going to call me back as soon as the plant manager finds out why it got put in storage. I'm going to call my dealer too, see what they can do. .



The saga continues. .

Please let us know what you find out as mine was also put in storage. This is kind of ridiculous, especially, after what you have been thru.
