What a long thread!!!

I ordered my dually on 9-30, today I called and was told it has a ship date of 11-27, but that he was highly doubtful that that could be true since the computer showed it was still on the assembly line. It is being built in Saltillo, the guy at DC said that if I saw the truck before the first of the year I would be lucky!!!

His guess was like ANOTHER 6-8 weeks:mad:

I need a new truck soon every time I turn around something seems to go wrong with my current one.

I'll call next week to see if it has gone to KZ

Steve

Don't get discouraged, mine shipped on the same day it went KZ!!! You never know... .

I would think that the reason some are getting their trucks in a few weeks and others are waiting months is because DC builds a lot of trucks and if they happen to already have one just like what you ordered already built then they would just ship it to you?? It's not like all of DC's trucks are custom built. Any DC people on here know if this happens?

DC said that if all parts are there they build it ,say if you ordered a bed liner and there out ,your order waits till they get more bedliners. mine just got bumped up, had all parts available. I don't think they had a Atlantic blue taupe leather 3500srw HO 6sp. Q cab 4x4 long bed just sitting waiting for my order. mike

Mike I agree yours sounds more custom than others but I would think a lot of them would be pretty standard.

Kwoods,

Thanks for the words of encouragment, I'm one of those guys that if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all. So my truck once it is shipped will probably go to the other Washington (D. C. ). sit there for a few weeks and then have somebody realize it belongs out west in Washington State.

Steve

Mike, DC said the parts for my truck were all available 10/17. Still BX 11/27. Good to see that some are getting their trucks. Dave

Don't think the DRW is the problem, others are getting through the system. Was told no room in the schedule at first, but other trucks ordered later were scheduled and built. The latest story is dealer allotment, dealer said they would check no word yet. 9 weeks 5 days still BX, different line every time I call. Dave

when I first called I got the same line about allotment.

called the dealer it was true, had to wait till nov. before DC would take order. mike

That makes a lot of sense  DC screws the customer over because the Dealer he is buying from has not sold that many trucks in the past, compared to other dealers. I could see this if we were talking NSX's or Corvettes but trucks:eek:

I was told that a sold truck with a name on it will go ahead of the orders for dealers' stock regardless of the allocation. That made sense to me. I just got my truck in less than 7 weeks and I think it had every option available except the bedliner.

When my truck was received, it had my name on the sticker, right at the top it said: "This truck made especially for" Wayne ****.

Could be because it has to clear customs twice? It 4 days for mine to get from Mexico thru Port of Loredo. I would imagine the Canadian customs give the load a pretty good look, too. Good luck with your new truck, it'll be worth the wait.

Wow, my truck is almost here! It was delivered in Buffalo, only 60 miles. . I am very impressed how fast it was moved through the rail system considering the holiday. Now I just have to wait for them to load it on a truck and get it here. . If they can do that over the weekend, I just might make the 12/4 rebate. .

Oo.

Just talked with the dealer, they don't have an answers as to why the order is not moving. They have 2 other 1 ton trucks on order and they are not moving either. Told them I would just wait for the truck I don,t need it till spring, maybe it will get hear by then.

Dave

Finally arrived yesterday. Picking it up today. Took exactly one week to get trucked approx 180 miles. I suppose the holiday probably slowed it down.
