I was just wondering how long it took you California guys to drive up to the First Gen Day event. I have to drive to PDR and want to know what to expect. Also does anyone know how far is from PDR to an airport where I can get a flight back to Sacramento.

It all depends on weather you consider the speed limit signs as an actual upper limit, or just an advised top speed. :-laf

When I made the trip I was trying to keep up with willyslover. We, uh... made good time. ;)

I'd say two days of driving, at conservative speeds, maybe ten to twelve hour days.

Ron about 15/16+ hrs ... . unless I lead LOL

have to stop for the kids [tailgaters] potty breaks and fuel... for some of us the fuel stop is optional 'cause 89 gals will go a good way LOL

same here - for the 03 dyno day we came up from the Santa barbara area (about 5-hours south of 'Frisco, about 3 hours north of LA), and the trip up and back ended up being about two easy 10-hour days, each way. Nice trip, smooth, and fun. Hoping to go to dyno day 05, but don;'t think the rig will be ready. If it is, the trip from Colorado will be a little longer but I'll still do it!

Yikes.

That would mean 2 days up, two days there and 2 days back. I haven't had that much time off in 30 years. Even if I fly home and go back when truck is ready, it'll be 5 days. Looks like this ain't gonna happen.

Well Ron you could just wait untill they have another event and I can grab a trailer from the ranch and tow it up there for you. It took me 16 hours to get up there, but I took a detour to go see my folks. I doubt you want to wait that long though.

Thanks Jeremy.

I talked to Piers today and I'm going to take it to a guy in Stockton. Piers said he's real good. I sent my new injectors to him today. He's going to put them together. I have J 1s in right now, I'm going to try J 2s next. I want to try a couple of different sizes so I can give Don M as much info as I can. I'll see you over in Rhonert Park. I can drive that far fairly easily.

Been up there 3 times now in the last year. It's right around that 14-15 hour mark depends on the speed regulators along the way, and this time of year the weather! When is the 1st gen day? I'm up for another visit to see Piers' and family, just give me some time so Piers' can have more goodies ready. Jeff

BTW: I think Gary could do it in under 12, and I'd put $$ on it :D
