How long to get a passport?

I have a chance to go to Costa rica for free!

Problem is it's only a few weeks away. :{

If you already have one and its just expired you can rush it thru in under a week I think not sure how long for a brand new one

Should still be able to get it in 2 weeks but you gotta go in person to the local passport distributor.

I got mine last year thru the Post Office. I had never had one before, but I needed it in a big hurry. The lady there said there was about a three month waiting list. I told her I needed it now to go out of the country for work and she expedited it(for an additional $150) and I received the passport 10 days later.

Call your post office and find out which one in your area does them. The comment about three months was true a year ago when the new passport law went into effect. It is much, much speedier now.
