Left stoplight and while excellerating thru 3rd gear rpm hovered at 1500 for 5 seconds then resumed excelerating normally, no MIL light. Pulled over and did code check... ... ... 216... ... ... ... ... Do I put it in shop or wait. How long might it last???:{

0216 code is death of the vp-44. start looking for a pump. it could last for a while or die tomorrow. there is no real way to tell how long. sorry for your problem. my truck just passed 451000kms on original vp-44.

I'm in the same club! :mad: I had the dead pedal and found the 0216 code. Cleared it and it has been two months now and has not happened again. It will die but I don't know when! I will run it until it gets bad or quits. A friend ran a couple of years before it got bad enough for him to replace it. It never did die. Others have not been that lucky. Are you feeling lucky!:-laf My fuel mileage is also down and that is another sign. It has always had good fuel pressure and only has 51K on it.
