How low does your fuel pressure have to get before the dealer will replace the lift pump under warranty? Mine idles at 14-15psi, but cruising 70mph it is steady at 5psi and I have had it as low as 3psi. I have about 93,000 miles on my truck so I am watching it close to the end of the warranty.

Actually, the latest lift pump test (AFAIK) is based on volume per unit of time. I don't believe fuel pressure is a pass/fail criterion as it used to be.

Having said that, if you're down to 3 PSI, I'd be for changing that lift pump, even if you have to buy one from Cummins and do it on your own dime. It's a lot cheaper and less trouble than having a VP-44 go "tango uniform".
